Ghana gets trade surplus in agric sector since 2018-Kennedy Agyapong reveals


As a part of Hon. Kennedy Agyapong submission at TESCON College of Ghana assembly lately monitored by, he revealed that Ghana has made strides in agricultural manufacturing since 2018 which mirrored in commerce surplus.

Commerce surplus in Economics means the worth of a rustic’s exports to imports. When the the distinction between exports and imports is optimistic, then there may be commerce surplus. When it’s destructive, it’s commerce deficit, when it’s zero(0) it’s referred to as commerce stability.

In response to Assin Central Member of Parliament,  from 2018-2019 Ghana’s commerce surplus in agricultural sector was $1.3bn and 2020 when the COVID-19 was devastating the economic system it was $759m.

He believes that more successes will be chalked in agriculture sector as Ghana wants to reduce rice importation and increase rice production should COVID-19 subsides.
