Surfers Wat, Port MacDonnell, South Australia: Snorkeller in shark attack


Pressing seek for lacking snorkeller who disappeared into the ocean on vacation with household – amid fears he was attacked by a SHARK

Police consider a person who went lacking whereas snorkelling in South Australia is prone to have been a vicitim of a shark assault. 

A Victorian man disappeared within the waters off Surfers Wat close to Port MacDonnell within the south-east of South Australia, at round 5pm on Thursday, sparking a direct search till 9.30pm. 

The 32-year-old man was holidaying together with his household, once they overpassed him snorkelling near the seaside.  

‘We do have grave fears for this individual however we’ll do all the pieces we are able to and we’ll put each effort into attempting to find him,’ Limestone Coast Police operation supervisor Campbell Hill stated.  

PolAir, SES Crews, Fisheries SA and native volunteers continued their seek for the person on Friday morning, however police now suspect the person died from a shark assault. 

 A broken wetsuit and flippers, believed to belong to the lacking man, have been discovered by PolAir and Police Water Operations members on Friday morning.   

SA Police have described the state of affairs as ‘tragic’, when PolAir noticed a shark within the space throughout the search and rescue operation. 

 Following the brand new discovery, the air and sea search is now being scaled again. 

 The police investigation now resulting in a report back to be ready for the Coroner.
