Within the Caucasus Mountains of the Republic of Georgia, villagers make an important seasonal revenue harvesting the seeds of Nordmann firs for export to Europe, the place they’ll turn into Christmas timber. Pickers climb to the highest of 50m giants to reap the cones. Some use security ropes however others depend on their climbing expertise and wits, and deaths and accidents are widespread.
