Mourinho believes Hans-Dieter Flick deserved the FIFA Best Manager of the year ahead of Klopp

Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has aimed another dig at rival manager Jurgen Klopp after he claimed Hansi Flick deserved the FIFA best Manager of the Year Award.

Jose Mourinho believes Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick deserved the Best FIFA manager of the year award ahead of Jurgen Klopp

This comes shortly after the Spurs boss told Klopp that “the best team lost” following his side’s 2-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.

Asked about his thoughts about Klopp winning the award, Mourinho said: “I think the only chance for Flick to win is if Bayern find two or three new competitions for him to win.

“So maybe if he wins seven titles in one season, maybe he wins the award.

Jurgen Klopp won the awards after ending Liverpool’s 30 years of wait to win the Premier League

“I believe he only won Champions League, the Bundesliga, German Cup, European Super Cup and German Super Cup. He only won five including the biggest of all.

“Poor Flick. I think the only chance is for Bayern to find two or three more trophies to see if he can win it.”

The Liverpool boss himself was even surprised to win the award admitting Flick deserved it more

“I don’t know why people voted for me. Flick deserved it for his titles,” Klopp said.
