Premier League Announces Nine Positive cases of Coronavirus in the Latest round of Testing


The Premier League latest round of Coronavirus testing has returned nine new positive cases the League confirmed.

Just last week the Premier League announced 10 cases which was their highest number of positive results recorded by the league.

Liverpool duo Thiago Alcantara and Sadio Mane were announced over the last seven days to have tested positive and are self-isolating for the required number of days.

The league released a statement on Monday that said: “The Premier League can confirm that between Monday 28 September through to Sunday 4 October, 1,587 players and club staff were tested for Covid-19.

“Of these, there were nine positive tests. Players or club staff who have tested positive will self-isolate for a period of 10 days.

“The Premier League is providing this aggregated information for the purpose of competition integrity and transparency.

“No specific details as to clubs or individuals will be provided by league and the result will be made public after each round of testing.”
