Manchester United have completed the signing of Fc Porto left-back Alex Telles for £15.4m.
The 27-year-old have signed a four-year contract to remain at the Old Trafford until summer 2024 with an option to further renew for a year.
United mada an initial offer to the Portuguese club which was rejected as it did not meet their £22.5m asking price.
However negotiations continued on Sunday with Porto changing their minds about the transfer fee with tranfser deadline quickly approaching knowing there will be no subsequent offers from United.
Telles upon signing his four-year deal said: “To join a club with a prestige of Manchester United is a huge honour.
“You have to work hard to get to this moment in your career and now I am coming to this club, I can promise that I will give everything in my heart to be a success here.
“I won many trophies at Fc Porto and I want to continue that here at United. The manager has a clear plan and direction for this team and I can’t wait to pull on the famous shirt.”
Telles joined Porto from Galatasaray in 2016 going on to win two Portuguese league titles and the Portuguese Cup after making almost 200 appearances.
