Arsenal’s youngster Matteo Guendouzi has joined German side Hertha Berlin on a season-long loan.
Since Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat to Burnley on June, 20 where the midfielder was involved in a post-match altercation with Neal Maupay, the Frenchman has been surplus to requirements at the Emirates falling out of favour in Mikel Arteta’s books.
His depature could open the way for The Gunners to sign Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey as Arsenal needed to ship some players away in order to complete the deal.
Arsenal are expected to meet the Ghanaian midfielder’s £45m release clause before deadline.
Sead Kolasinac’s potential move to Bayern Leverkusen appears to have fallen through in the last minutes but Lucas Torriera is expected to join Atletico Madrid.
Matteo Guendouzi joined Arsenal from Lorient in 2018 and is under contact at the Emirates until June 2022.
The Frenchman has made 82 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions scoring once and assiting five since making his debut in August 2018.
