Liverpool are on the verge of completing a £20m deal to land Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich as they look to stamp their character as Premeirr League Champions.
Liverpool has had an all quiet summer in the transfer window until Thursday after they concluded negotiations with Bayern Munich for Thiago Alcantara, the sensational Spanish midfielder whom they had been persistently linked.
Liverpool have also reportedly contacted Watford to express their interest in Senegalese attacker Ismaila Sarr who performed brilliantly against them last season and is valued by the Championship club at around £35m.
The Reds looks to retain the Premier League title as Jurgen Klopp seeks to tighten up things in midfield with opponent Premier League sides already making signings.
The addition of Thiago to the team will enhance Liverpool’s prospects of winning the title once more.
The Reds sporting director, Michael Edwards has been in touch with his fellow counterpart in Bayern Hassan Salihamidzic making a breakthrough in negotiations for Liverpool to pay £20m over the next four years.
Thiago arrived in Merseyside on Thursday after leaving Bayern to complete his medicals and will wear the No.6 shirt.
Personal terms have also been agreed with the 29-year-old Spanish midfielder expected to sign a four-year deal with Liverpool.
Should Liverpool win the Premier League or the Champions League, they will have to pay Bayern Munich an additional £5m and there are other bonuses pertaining to individual honours should he win any while at Anfield.
