AFCON Trophy Reportedly Stolen From CAF Office

Information dropping in has it that the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) headquarters in Cairo has hinted that the African Cup Of Nations trophy has been stolen from their office in Egypt.

According to reports, Egypt who won the African Cup of Nations in 2006 and 2010 had the trophy been placed in the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) headquarters office in Cairo but got stolen.

Former EFA vice-president Ahmed Shobier in a statement announced the event happening to the mass and stated that an investigation has been started to find the whereabouts of the trophy.

“The EFA started looking for some trophies as they aim to put them in a notable museum inside the EFA,” Shobier said.

“However, the EFA was surprised to find that the AFCON trophy was lost and decided to open an investigation.

“They were informed by an employee inside the association that it was held by former Egypt captain Ahmed Hassan who refuted this claim. Nobody knows where the trophy is at the time being.”
