Chelsea continue their busy summer as the Blues announce on Thursday that Malang Sarr has joined the club on a-five-year deal.
The young French defender whose contract expired this summer at OG Nice completed his move to the Stamford Bridge on Thursday and will spend the 2020/21 season on loan as the Blues wants him to gain more game time and experience for the season ahead.
Upon signing the 21-year-old French defender, Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia told the club’s offical website: ‘The opportunity to sign Malang was on we couldn’t miss.’
‘He is a tremendous prospect and we will be monitoring him closely during his loan period, hoping he will soon be back at Chelsea.’
‘We are very happy to welcome him to the club today.’
At the age of 5, Sarr joined Nice and has played through the ranks of youth teams until he broke into the first team aged 17 years.
It was a dream start of senior career for Sarr when he scored the only goal for his side in a Ligue 1 match on his debut against Rennes in August 2016.

A left-footed central defender Sarr is versatile and can also play on the left of the three back and at left back too.
He made 100 appearances for Nice in the space of three years and won the club’s young player of the seaon.
Sarr has quite some experience in the Champions League qualifying round and has gotten some goals to his name in the Europa League over the past two years.
A ball playing centre back is one to admire especially in a team that wants to start attacking right from the back which Patrick Vieira’s side is noted for and Sarr was a key man who passes the ball into the attacking third and can be reliable for Chelsea in the near future.
He has made a total of 119 appearances for Nice and scored three goals.
