The President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo would today Friday 21st August commission the opening of the Ekumfi Fruits and juice factory in Ekumfi as one of the promises he made when asking for the power to become president.
The one district one factory is an initiative that has been set by the NPP government to help provide jobs for the citizens of the country and also help build the economy.
The factory commenced operation in March and would be officially commissioned today by the president since it now employs over 400 workers.
According to reports, the project is an 8 million dollar project and would create 5,000 direct jobs for the people in the community and its environs.
Ekumfi Fruits and Juice factory is said to be the biggest factory where pineapple juice is made in West Africa as it can produce ten tonnes of fruits per hour and is located on 50 acres of land.
