Workers at a sandwich factory are forced to self-isolate following an epidemic of coronavirus.
Greencore in Northampton started “proactively testing” workers after a recent increase in cases within the town.
A spokesman said that a number of individuals at the organization, which employs 2,100 people, had tested positive.
Lucy Wightman, Director of Public Health at Northamptonshire governing body, said the authority was working with Greencore following the outbreak.
The Greencore spokesman said the corporate had started testing staff “as a results of the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the Northampton area”.
One of those who tested positive is Bakers’ Union’s branch secretary for Greencore Northampton, Nicolae Macari.
Mr. Macari said he tested positive on 4 August, alongside his mother and father – who also work on Greencore – and his wife.
