Reports in Italy claims Inter Milan has agreed a £13.5million deal to sign Alexis Sanchez on a permanent deal from Manchester United.
Italian outlet Corriere della Sera has claimed that Inter Milan Sporting director Beppe Marotta has agreed on a deal with Man United which will see the attacker make a permanent switch to the Serie A side.
The reports further claims the official announcement will be made after Inter Milan’s Europa League clash with Getafe on Wednesday in which Alexis was named in the squad for the remainder of the competition on Monday.
The news will come as a huge relief for United offloading the attacker who was earning a whopping £350k a week salary while he hardly played in games.
Sanchez was battling injuries while at United and that was a huge factor for the attacker being put out on loan but has been gradually rediscovering his form while at the San Siro.
His wages which United were still paying huge portion of was the stumbling block hindering his transfer to other suitors.
Inter Milan has been paying £150,000 of Alexis’ wages but has asked the Chilean to take a huge pay cut should he sign with them permanently.
Sanchez according to Gazetta dello Sport has agreed to spread his £13.5 million wages over a period of the years at Inter taking him through until June 2023.
United are keen to offload the Chilean whose wages sum up to £560,000 a week and sign Borussia Dortmund and English winger Jadon Sancho.
With Antonio Conte keen on keeping the Chilean, the deal seem more likely and is expected to be announced soon.
