Chelsea are reportedly ready to offer Dean Henderson a deal worth £170,000 a week should Manchester United fail to guarantee the highly rated goalkeeper number regular first team football.
The 23-year-old has enjoyed a successful spell at Sheffield United and recently returned to Old Trafford but will not sign a new deal until United guarantees him regular first team football.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to tie dow Henderson to a new contract to provide competition for David De Gea but is believed to still see the Spaniard as his first choice goalkeeper.
In view of this Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may not be willing to give Henderson the assurance he needs despite De Gea having a poor season coupled with high profile errors.
Dean Henderson has set his eye on breaking into the England national team and looks forward to regular first team action with rumours that he told friends that, while he is desperate to play for United, he is open to looking elsewhere.
Chelsea are favourites to sign Henderson should they offer a hefty fee as Frank Lampard still seems unconvinced about his current goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga having dropped him in their final match against Wolves.
Sportsmail also reports that North Londoners Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in signing Dean Henderson as Mourinho believes the goalkeeper is a better stopper than De Gea.
Henderson kept 13 clean sheets playing 36 games this season and still has two years left on his contract at United.
