Coronavirus: Obesity increases risks from Covid-19, experts say

A new study by Public Health England has revealed that suffering from Obesity can increase their risk of dying after contracting the deadly coronavirus.

According to them, after an examination of existing case of people who are suffering obesity,they found out that it could lead to them needing intensive care or hospital admision.

Dr Alison Tedstone, chief nutritionist at Public Health England, said the current evidence was clear, that being overweight or obese puts you at greater risk of serious illness or death from Covid-19, as well as from many other life-threatening diseases.

“Losing weight can bring huge benefits for health – and may also help protect against the health risks of Covid-19,and  the case for action on obesity has never been stronger.”She said.

According to her,the USA has the highest rate of people with Obesity in Europe therefore more people are likely to die or be placed on intensive care.
