Ronaldo Sets Another Record

Just three minutes into the second half of the game, Cristiano Ronaldo made sure Juventus would not lose for the third time to Lazio this season.

Ronaldo converted a penalty after VAR reviewed a handball incidence

Ronaldo’s brace in a 2-1 win on Monday meant Juventus could clinch yet another Serie A trophy to make it their ninth consecutive Scudetto.

With four rounds of fixtures remaining, Juventus are now eight points clear from Inter, nine from Atalanta and 11 ahead of Lazio who after lockdown were just one point behind in second place.

Juve had lost twice to Lazio in December after being beaten in both Serie A and the Italia Super Cup.

Ronaldo scored a penalty after VAR reviewed an incidence of handball then finished off a second set up by Paulo Dybala after they broke on a counter attack.

Immobile pulled one back in the 83rd minute with a penalty sending him to 30 Serie A goals this season at par with Ronaldo.

He then slotted in a second with a tap in set up by Dybala

Ronaldo now becomes the first player to score 50 or more goals in the Premier League, La Liga and the Serie A with his 51 in the Italian League going with his 84 in the Premier league and 311 in the La Liga.

He siad : ‘Records are always important, but the most important thing is that the team wins. We are a phenomenal team and we showed that again today, although we always want to improve and raise the bar.’
