Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has angrily rebuffed reports that there is a problem between Gareth Bale and himself and says both of them are only focused on winning the La Liga.
Real Madrid will secure the title for the first time in the years if they beat Villarreal on Thursday night and Zidane was once again asked about Bale whom he has had quite a tense relationship with after several bizzare incidents.
Gareth Bale has not featured a single minute in Real Madrid’s last five games and was called “shameful” by the Spanish press for pretending to sleep while on the bench in their win against Alaves.
Earlier this week, Bale appeared to mock all those who are keeping an eye on him by making a “binoculars” gesture while on the bench again against Granada.
Gareth Bale’s time at Madrid seemed to come to an end with Zidane seeming to ship the 31-year-old out but Bale and his agent have insisted he is happy with life in Madrid and refused a move.
Zidane when asked again about Bale by the Spanish media seemed irritated and replied: ‘The question about Gareth again! We are interested in the game, just like Gareth is,’ Zidane told his pre-match press conference, report Marca.
‘You (the press) are always trying to put things between us but you will not succeed.’
Zidane also insisted there is no issue with James Rodriguez who also haven’t had game chances recently in the French manager’s team.
‘You can keep asking the same thing but we are all united here: me, Bale, James, everyone – all of us want the same thing.’
