The Minister of Education and MP Manhyia South, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh fondly known as Napo has descended heavily on politicians who are seen to making political capital out of the COVID-19 crisis.
The minister who was recently discharged from the hospital after contracting the virus has noticed that some politicians are trying to profit politically out of the virus.
Recounting his condition when he was admitted at the hospital, the minister said the virus “you would not wish it for your enemy.” He said the virus doesn’t discriminate and the fight should be a collective one.
Speaking on Peace FM in Accra, “I thought I would not live again because of the extreme pains and agony that I endured on the night of my admission at the hospital.”
He said he was admitted at the hospital together with his family. He revealed that this is the first time he was admitted to hospital in the 52 years of his life.
“My horrifying experience should be enough for every Ghanaian about the need for us to support the government’s efforts and adhere to health protocols to defeat the disease in the country.”
Napo suggested in his submissions, that “The media should use their powerful platforms to preach about the deadly nature of Covid-19 in order to create awareness in the minds of our people.”
